Why Insurgents Fail | Examining Post-World War II Failed Insurgencies

Greek Civil War | NLF Insurgents at a street fight
"The purpose of this thesis is to determine whether historical analysis of post World War II failed insurgencies identifies common characteristics that can be exploited to promote failure in future insurgencies. Most studies of insurgencies have focused primarily on counterinsurgency efforts, rather than on the characteristics of the insurgency itself. Furthermore these studies, to date, have focused most attention on why insurgencies succeed. However, there has been limited research into why others fail." by Frank H. Zimmerman.
